SF and Carroll Media Legal Matters

In late 2021, it was brought to our attention that certain employees in the marketing department at SF corporate were informing agents they could no longer work with Carroll Media as an outside vendor.

Our legal team swiftly drafted a legal response and notified SF of our findings. After a number of letters back and forth, Carroll Media was made aware that YOU the AGENT are not allowed to use the SF trademark nor give us permission to use the logo on your behalf.

After this was settled and we made changes to our business model, a final letter was sent to us from SF’s outside council. It is here for you to read in its entirety below. However, I thought it was important to also include our legal team’s “interpretation” from legal speak to plain language.

In short – SF corp does not forbid its agents from working with Carroll Media, so long as the State Farm logo isn’t used.

If you have been notified by a SF employee that you are forbidden to work with Carroll Media – please feel free to forward the full legal response from their outside counsel to the employee.
